The primary competition in Dallas on February 6th is of course the football game. The secondary competition is of course the hair. It was only a matter of time before Green Bay Packer Clay Matthews, often nicknamed "Fabio" because of his long blonde mane, scored his very own hair endorsement gig. The linebacker has inked a one-year deal with Unilever’s Suave brand of hair care products.
Prior to the new gig, Matthews made his interest in a hair endorsement very public sharing this on Monday: "I've been throwing it out there and just getting shunned. I don't know what it is...America, I'm looking for a hair deal."
Matthews' marketing agent, Ryan Williams of Athletes First, said the deal included media appearances pre- and post-Super Bowl and a production day should the company want to film a commercial or additional advertising with him.
Polamalu's curls have always received the most attention despite the fact that Matthews also sports a standout hair style. The former USC Trojan teammates will now meet "head-to-head" in Super Bowl XLV when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers. And when they're not hitting hard on the field, expect to see these two guys "whip their hair back and forth" on the sidelines.
