The Nike brand outfits almost all Syracuse Orange teams with their uniforms and shoes. Just about one year ago, they unveiled new uniforms for the Orange men's basketball team. The "Nike Hyper Elites" as they are called, celebrate the school's culture and tradition and their design still continues to be a topic of conversation during games.
Though he might not get to wear the new uniform come gametime, Jim Boeheim pledges his allegiance to Nike through his sideline accessories. The Cuse head coach was spotted wearing black-rimmed eyeglasses that featured the iconic brand "swoosh" in white. It's not the first time he's worn the branded eyewear on the court but this close-up photo (via @mookman43) circulated on twitter last night, during Cuse's wacky game against Pitt.
It might come as a surprise to many but these "swoosh specs" were apparently not provided by Nike. According to The Big East blog, when asked if the Nike guys gave him his eyeglass frames, which have a tiny swoosh on the temple, Boeheim responded with: “Nope, I bought them at retail.”
Either way, it's safe to assume that the brand will happily re-stock Boeheim's eyewear collection when needed. And if you want a pair of glasses similar to the Cuse coach, check out the Nike eyewear options here.
