Soccer
stars are no strangers to modeling in their skivvies. David Beckham and more
recently Cristiano Ronaldo, have dropped their drawers in ads for Emporio Armani.
And Swedish soccer player, Freddie Ljungberg, caused quite a stir when he debuted his smoking hot bod in Calvin Klein ads.Taking a cue from these designers and their muses,
Dolce & Gabbana has tapped into five soccer players for their new ad campaign.
Footballers Antonio
Di Natale, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Claudio Marchisio, Federico Marchetti and Domenico Criscito all posed half naked in a locker room setting, while sporting Dolce & Gabbana "Calcio" briefs. These
five guys are all set to play on Italy's national team during the World Cup
this Summer in South Africa.
The new collection of Dolce & Gabbana Gym & Underwear is dedicated to the World Cup and represents the Italian national team. The collection, which ranges from underwear to tracksuits to trousers, pays homage to Italy with a variety of special design touches. The country's flag along with the words "Calcio" and "Italia" are seen throughout the pieces. Additionally, a color palette including blue, light blue and white represents the team's colors.
The new
ads will debut just in time for the World Cup and you can pick up items from the collection at Dolce & Gabbana stores beginning in mid-May. And ladies, if you weren't planning to watch the World Cup, this might change your mind. Score
one for the Italian team.
