Shoe addicts rejoiced, at the National Stiletto Championship
Race in Paris. Online shoe sale website, Sarenza.com, came up with the idea for
the race where 96 finalists competed in a three-part, 180-meter relay. Runners
had to wear heels that were at least three inches high.
The Championship Race took place on an indoor track in the old Stock Exchange building in Paris and thirty-two teams competed for the ultimate prize: 3,000 euros worth of shoes. Before the finals, there were heats all across France with more than 400 participants who had entered the race nationally. But this years winners were three young Parisian women who called themselves "Les Cocottes Codec" or "The Darling Chicks."
A bunch of shopaholics racing for shoes could definitely be dangerous. But don’t worry because the Red Cross was on hand in case of injury. Or maybe to mend a broken heel?
This must have been a real crowd-pleaser!
