It’s Thanksgiving day.
For many of us, that means family, food and of course, football. Whether
you’re a fan or not, you might want to tune in to this afternoon’s game between
the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders. Tony Romo won’t just be the focus on
the field as the Cowboys starting quarterback, but the football hunk will also
be appearing during the commercial breaks. The Starter clothing brand will be unveiling
a new commercial featuring Romo and their new “Never Stop” slogan.
The commercial, which was shot in the off-season by famed director Dave Meyers, shows Romo breaking tackles while having his football equipment torn off. As he crosses the goal line, he is wearing Starter workout gear.
According to Romo, "The whole idea is to relate to everybody. They've done a great job with the product and it's affordable and that means a lot to me. It's something that can withstand the wear and tear and it's cool." [Dallas Cowboys blog]
And Romo will certainly have no problem affording his own workout gear. This deal with Starter is believed to be the largest footwear and apparel endorsement in NFL history, with a 5 year, $10 million dollar contract. Romo will be featured in print, online and outdoor billboards as well as the commercial.
