Male athletes are often seen hiding under their baseball caps and helmets or sporting a face full of dirt and sweat come gametime. But off the court, the field or the ice, once their gear is removed, many are perfectly groomed. Sports superstars including Derek Jeter, Roger Federer and Landon Donovan are just a few of the men who have Gillette to thank for their well-kept faces.
But this time, in order to promote their newest product, Gillette turned to its fans. They recently held a search for two passionate and charismatic individuals to travel across North America this Summer, appear at major sporting events, and turn guys who are "skeptics" about the new Gillette Fusion ProGlide razor and Gillette Fusion ProSeries skin care products into "believers." Entrants were asked to upload a one-minute video demonstrating how badly they wanted the gig and four teams were chosen as finalists.
A Glam Slam attended the “sports-style draft” held at the Hudson Hotel in New York City last night, to determine the winning pair of Gillette Fusion ProGlide Ambassadors. The event featured celebrity judges including San Antonio Spurs point guard, Tony Parker, ESPN sideline reporter, Erin Andrews and WWE superstar, Jon Cena, who would name the winners. Here are the judges, as Erin prepares to give the guys the ceremonial Gillette shave:
The finalists competed in a series of challenges and practiced their skills on the evening’s crowd of “skeptics,” before Erin, Tony and Jon crowned a winner. After an entertaining performance that included wooing Erin Andrews, trash-talking Jon Cena and rapping about Tony Parker, Adam Ward and Jason Fisher of Los Angeles were named the champions. In addition to the coolest Summer internship ever, the guys will receive $50,000. Take a look at their crowning moment:
